3rd Edition

Course Summary
Automotive parts manufacturers apply the IATF 16949:2016 quality management system, which refers to the Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
APQP covers production management from the first customer input to the end of production, so that products or services meet customer requirements and build confidence in the quality of what the organisation makes and delivers, with emphasis on quality, appropriate cost and on-time delivery. Product quality must therefore be planned systematically, with assurance that customer requirements are translated into the product. The Control Plan is an output of process design; it used to sit inside APQP 2nd Edition and, with APQP 3rd Edition, became a separate Control Plan 1st Edition with clearer requirements and guidance. Organisations should understand the details and the relationship with risk management in FMEA.
Course objective
- Gain knowledge of advanced product quality planning and the production part approval process to the AIAG standard
- Understand the five phases of APQP
- Plan systematically and understand the roles of the team clearly
- Understand the documents of each phase and prepare them correctly
- Understand the changes and additions from the 2nd to the 3rd Edition
- Develop a Control Plan linked to the risks analysed in FMEA
- Understand the Control Plan requirements and prepare it correctly
- Use the Control Plan effectively
