Course Summary
Every activity uses production factors such as people, machines and equipment, methods, materials and environment. These factors must work together properly to raise productivity, but none of them stays in perfect condition all the time, so problems arise at work, causing losses and waste that must be corrected to bring work back to normal.
Genba improvement (improving at the actual workplace to raise productivity) is therefore needed in every organisation to make work simpler and easier and to reduce errors, with goals such as producing more pieces in the same or less time. Many tools support this, such as Kaizen, QCC, industrial engineering (IE) and SMED.
Course objective
- Understand the principles of, and the need for, genba improvement to raise productivity
- Gain the knowledge and skills to improve processes
