Course Summary
When production lacks quality, defects occur easily and hit cost directly, especially in industries that produce high volumes or many product types, so good standards are essential. Beyond cost, customer satisfaction also suffers when non-conforming products occur.
Defects can slip through statistical quality control sampling before products reach the customer, which undoubtedly affects customer satisfaction and may require rework of non-conforming products, pushing production cost even higher. One technique for improving quality and working towards zero defects is POKA-YOKE, which targets errors in the production process.
Course objective
- Find ways to reduce defects
- Understand the Zero Defect principle
- Understand production cost and how to build profit for the company
- Build a preventive mindset and a structured approach to analysing and solving problems
