Course Summary
An internal audit checks whether the organisation's activities are efficient, conform to the requirements of the standard, and are implemented effectively and appropriately, and where any weaknesses lie, so they can be corrected and improved. This course is for people who will act as internal auditors or integrated system auditors. Participants learn the process approach to auditing and the steps for planning, preparing and conducting an audit. Preparing internal auditors well is key to effective management under the occupational health and safety management system.
Course objective
- Understand what internal auditing means and the qualities of an internal auditor
- Use the course as a guide for internal audits: audit planning and audit techniques such as questioning, interviewing, sampling and collecting audit evidence
- Write corrective action requests that state the facts and are useful to the auditee, including the correction process
- Write audit reports for management
