ANSI/ESD S20.20 Management System Course
ANSI/ESD S20.20

ANSI/ESD S20.20 Management System Course
Principle and Rationale
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a major factor that can damage electronic components, particularly in industries that demand high precision and reliability, such as the electronics and automotive industries. ESD damage may not be visible immediately, but it affects product quality and service life in the long term.
The ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard is therefore used as the framework for controlling and preventing electrostatic problems in production. It covers the management of the ESD Protected Area (EPA) and the control of personnel, equipment and the working environment, so that the production process is safe and conforms to the requirements.
EQA has developed this course to build knowledge and understanding of the principles of ESD, the means of protection and the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20, together with their application in the organization, in order to reduce the risk of damage, increase confidence in product quality and support effective operation in line with the international standard.
Course Objectives
- To give participants whose duties involve ESD management and control, such as ESD owners, coordinators, implementation teams and personnel in the areas concerned, correct knowledge and understanding
- To enable participants to understand the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 correctly and apply them
- To give participants basic knowledge of electrostatic discharge and the effect of ESD events on products
- To enable participants to use this knowledge to prepare procedures and work instructions that conform to the standard and to customer requirements
- To enable participants to apply ESD control practices effectively in their work
