Principle and Rationale

The automotive industry places stringent quality requirements on special processes. Heat treatment is one of the key processes affecting material properties and the strength and durability of parts, so manufacturers in the supply chain of OEM customers and Tier 1 suppliers need an effective process control system that conforms to industry standards.

The CQI-9 Heat Treat System Assessment (HTSA) standard sets out the approach for assessing the heat treatment process system, so that the process, equipment, measuring instruments and material handling, as well as quality control and process monitoring, can be controlled systematically.
