Course Summary
Thailand is often called the "Detroit of Asia", a regional hub for car manufacturing, with many companies making parts for the automotive industry. To give the supply chain confidence in good quality management and prevent quality problems that affect vehicles, a quality standard for automotive parts manufacturers was created. It began with QS-9000 and VDA 6.1, built on ISO 9001, became ISO/TS 16949, and has developed into today's IATF 16949:2016.
IATF 16949 requires parts manufacturers at every tier to develop their suppliers' systems in line with IATF 16949, cascading down the supply chain. Bringing an organisation into line with IATF 16949 therefore needs a team that understands how to apply it correctly and as the standard requires, so the organisation meets its objectives, satisfies customers and improves continually.
