Course Summary
Cleanrooms and other controlled environments are essential wherever production must reduce the risk of contamination, such as electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and high-precision parts. The ISO 14644 series gives guidance on classifying air cleanliness, measuring and monitoring, testing, design and operational control, so that a cleanroom performs as the product and process require.
This course focuses on understanding the key requirements and applying them in practice: building a monitoring plan, controlling contamination and responding when conditions go out of limits.
Course Objective
- Explain cleanroom principles and give an overview of the key requirements of the ISO 14644 series
- Understand air-cleanliness classification (ISO Cleanliness Classification) and how to interpret the results
- Understand the principles of measuring, testing and monitoring cleanroom performance
- Identify contamination sources from people, materials, equipment and the environment, and how to control them
- Apply the requirements to operation, maintenance and continual improvement
