Measurement System Analysis (MSA) 4th and Statistical Process Control (SPC) 2nd Edition Course

Measurement System Analysis (MSA) 4th and Statistical Process Control (SPC) 2nd Edition Course
Principle and Rationale
Automotive parts manufacturers apply the IATF 16949:2016 quality management standard for the automotive industry, which refers to the Core Tools. Two of these Core Tools are MSA and SPC.
Measurement System Analysis (MSA) is a key requirement and the heart of managing the measuring equipment system, selecting equipment and providing an environment suited to the type of measurement. The MSA reference manual is a core requirement used in managing and planning the supplier's production system, to ensure that measurement system variation is within acceptable limits, that measurement results are accurate and reliable, and that the quality of delivered parts meets requirements.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) is the activity of using control charts to track the output of a process, in order to monitor whether the process remains stable, to identify abnormalities in the process when out-of-control signals appear, and to confirm that the process capability level still conforms to customer requirements.
Course Objectives
- To be able to apply statistical techniques to analyse measurement systems correctly, as appropriate to the requirements, the type of equipment and the products to be measured and inspected in the organization
- To be able to establish the documentation required by the system and by customer requirements
- To understand the principles of managing the MSA system effectively
- To know the relationship between MSA, calibration and the other Core Tools
- To understand basic statistical principles and the importance of applying statistical process control in quality control
- To be able to select the type of control chart appropriate to the process
- To be able to analyse control charts correctly
- To be able to use the control plan to detect abnormalities and take timely corrective action
