Requirement IATF 16949:2016 Product Design Course
DFMEA, DVP and R (Design Verification Plan and Report), (Design Change Management)
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
(Audit)

Requirement IATF 16949:2016 Product Design Course
Principle and Rationale
IATF 16949:2016 is the quality management system standard specific to the automotive industry. Its requirements place strict demands on the product design and development process, in order to prevent failures, reduce cost and unnecessary design changes, and increase confidence in the quality of automotive parts and systems.
At the same time, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) was developed as a framework that aligns the product design and development process with the IATF 16949 requirements through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and its links to supporting documents such as the DFMEA, the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP and R), design reviews and design change management.
This course is therefore designed to give participants an overview of the design requirements in IATF 16949 and their links to the related core APQP activities, so that they can be applied correctly and systematically in the organization.
Course Objectives
- To enable participants to understand clause 8.3 Design and Development of IATF 16949:2016 correctly
- To understand the relationship between the IATF requirements and the working steps in the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) manual
- To know the key focus and the deliverables of each design stage
- To reduce design-related non-conformities and prepare for audits
- To enable the APQP team to meet the requirements completely
