Statistical Process Control (SPC) AIAG 2nd Edition and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) AIAG 4th Edition Course

Statistical Process Control (SPC) AIAG 2nd Edition and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) AIAG 4th Edition Course
Principle and Rationale
Automotive parts manufacturers apply the IATF 16949:2016 quality management standard for the automotive industry, which refers to the Core Tools. One of these Core Tools is SPC.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) is the activity of using control charts to track the output of a process, in order to monitor whether the process remains stable, to identify abnormalities in the process when out-of-control signals appear, and to confirm that the process capability level still conforms to customer requirements.
The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) defines what is needed to meet customer requirements and to prepare the submission of automotive parts for approval before actual production. The course also covers the steps for preparing the documents and the items the customer requires for submission to obtain approval before production and delivery to the customer.
Course Objectives
- To understand basic statistical principles and the importance of applying statistical process control in quality control
- To be able to select the type of control chart appropriate to the process
- To be able to analyse control charts correctly
- To be able to use the control plan to detect abnormalities and take timely corrective action
- To understand the principles of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and its link with the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) steps
- To understand and know the roles and responsibilities of the team in preparing the PPAP
- To be able to apply the PPAP documents correctly
- To be able to prepare the PPAP documents correctly according to the AIAG manual
