Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Study (PCS) AIAG 2nd Edition Course

Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Study (PCS) AIAG 2nd Edition Course
Principle and Rationale
The automotive industry applies the IATF 16949:2016 quality management system to control and raise product quality. One of the key Core Tools is Statistical Process Control (SPC), which is used to monitor and control variation in the production process.
SPC is a technique that uses control charts to keep the production process in a state of control, detect abnormalities promptly and reduce the risk of scrap or defects in the process. It is also used to evaluate process capability through indices such as Cpk and Ppk, to confirm that the process can meet customer requirements consistently.
EQA has developed this course to build knowledge and understanding of the principles of SPC, the selection of suitable tools, data analysis and interpretation of control charts, so that participants can apply them to control and improve the production process effectively and in line with automotive industry requirements.
Course Objectives
- To understand basic statistical principles and the importance of applying statistical process control in quality control
- To be able to select the type of control chart appropriate to the process
- To be able to analyse control charts correctly
- To be able to carry out a process capability study and use it correctly
- To be able to use the control plan to detect abnormalities and take timely corrective action
