Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Study (PCS) Course (Cpk, Ppk)
(Cpk, Ppk)
(Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk)

Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Study (PCS) Course (Cpk, Ppk)
Principle and Rationale
Automotive parts manufacturers apply the IATF 16949:2016 quality management standard for the automotive industry, which refers to the Core Tools. One of these Core Tools is SPC.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) is the activity of using control charts to track the output of a process, in order to monitor whether the process remains stable, to identify abnormalities in the process when out-of-control signals appear, and to confirm that the process capability level still conforms to customer requirements.
A Process Capability Study (PCS) is a study to evaluate to what extent the existing process has the potential to produce products that meet the customer's specification, reflected in key indices such as Cp, Cpk and Pp, Ppk.
Course Objectives
- To understand basic statistical principles and the importance of applying statistical process control in quality control
- To be able to select the type of control chart appropriate to the process
- To be able to analyse control charts correctly
- To be able to use the control plan to detect abnormalities and take timely corrective action
- To understand the differences between the process capability indices (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and how each is used
- To be able to use the results of the analysis to improve processes and reduce waste in the organization effectively
