Course Summary
Automotive parts manufacturers apply IATF 16949:2016, the quality management standard for the automotive industry, which refers to the core tools: APQP and Control Plan, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
APQP covers production management from the first customer input through to end of production, so that products and services meet customer requirements and build confidence in the quality the organisation delivers, with attention to quality, appropriate cost and on-time delivery. Systematic product quality planning is essential and links to the production part approval process (PPAP). One of the outputs of APQP is the control plan, used to control the process so that product conforms to requirements and reflects the risks considered in the FMEA.
Course objective
- Know advanced product quality planning and production part approval in line with AIAG
- Understand the five phases of APQP
- Understand the changes from APQP 2nd edition to APQP 3rd edition
- Plan systematically and understand the team's roles clearly
- Understand the documents for each phase and prepare them correctly
- Understand how PPAP links to APQP
- Enable the cross-functional team to understand how the control plan is developed
- Link process risk (PFMEA) to the control plan
