Course Summary
Textile Exchange's Global Recycled Standard (GRS) 5.0 is mandatory for audits from 31 December 2026. Certified organisations must be confident that their GRS system meets the new requirements and is effective, so a systematic internal audit is a key tool for finding weak points before the certification body's audit.
This course is for people who have already studied the GRS 5.0 requirements. It focuses on audit skills following ISO 19011:2026: building a risk-based programme, preparing a checklist, auditing the material trail from incoming TC to outgoing TC, writing nonconformity reports and following up corrective action.
Course Objective
- Understand the principles of auditing and the role of the internal auditor under ISO 19011:2026
- Be able to plan a risk-based audit programme and audit plan, and prepare a checklist for a GRS 5.0 system
- Build skills in questioning, sampling and evaluating evidence — TC, mass balance, segregation and identification, including digital evidence
- Be able to write nonconformity reports (NC/CAR) and follow up the effectiveness of corrections
