Content Claim Standard

Course Summary
Textile Exchange published version 5.0 of the Global Recycled Standard (GRS-101-V5.0) in July 2026, and it becomes mandatory for audits from 31 December 2026. Certified organisations and those applying for certification therefore need to understand the new requirements: recycled material, supply chain, and the social, environmental and chemical requirements.
This course explains the GRS 5.0 requirements section by section, with examples of the evidence certification bodies expect, what has changed from GRS 4.0 and the move towards the Materials Matter Standard (MMS), so that organisations can plan their system update in time.
Course Objective
- Understand the purpose, scope and principles of GRS 5.0 and its link to the Content Claim Standard
- Know what changed from GRS 4.0 → 5.0, the mandatory dates and what to watch on the MMS
- Understand the recycled material and supply-chain requirements — TC, segregation, identification and mass balance
- Understand the social, environmental and chemical requirements and the evidence to prepare
- Be able to assess the gaps in the organisation's system against GRS 5.0
